May 16
Next Sunday, May 23, is Pentecost, the birthday of the church. We’ll celebrate with a covered dish lunch after the 11:00 service. Please bring your favorite dish and plan to stay for a short program. Remember to wear red that day – it’s the color which represents the Holy Spirit!
You are invited to help celebrate Sarah Devereux’s 90th birthday here at Epiphany from 2-4pm on Saturday, June 5th Please RSVP to Elizabeth Devereux at 932-0180.
The United Thank Offering (UTO) spring ingathering begins Sunday May 16th and continues through May 23rd. If you have a “blue box” please place it in the offering this Sunday or May 23rd. Checks can be made payable to ECW/Diocese of NC. Money can also be sent to the church office or to Helen Frenette, UTO coordinator.
May 8 Bryant Lemons mother passed away Friday morning. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 at Overlook Cemetery. Visitation is tonight from 6 to 8 at Fair Funeral Home and at other times at Bryant’s home. Memorials may be made to First Church of the Brethren, 730 Church Street, Eden or Epiphany. Please keep Bryant and his family in your prayers.
A great big thanks to our youth for the fantastic spaghetti supper last night!
The vestry will meet Monday at 7:00 pm.
The ladies luncheon is May 11th at 12:30 at the Whistle Jacket.
Relay for Life is May 14th and 15th.
Please call Betty at the church office (623-9410) and let her know if someone in your family is graduating from high school, college, graduate school, or other program.
The vestry is moving forward with plans to renovate the kitchen, including new plumbing. If you would like to make a donation toward this project, any amount would be appreciated. Other projects include: exterior painting, playground, and roof repair.
